The Ford Foundation provided one million dollars to REAL in 1985. These funds were used for curriculum development for REAL programs in Georgia, North Carolina, & South Carolina.
REAL received over $120,000 from the Annenberg Rural Challenge (now called the Rural School and Community Trust) in 1998 to develop teacher scholarship & to provide local support.
REAL received $100,000 from the Mott Foundation to support curriculum development.
